According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Füllkrug sought out advice from officials with the DFB regarding his potential transfer to West Ham United.
The forward was advised to make the move:
Excl | Niclas #Füllkrug has already sought advice from the DFB coaching team, including Julian Nagelsmann, Sandro Wagner and Benjamin Glück.
⚠️ They recommended him the move to West Ham, noting that playing regularly in the Premier League would increase his chances of being one of Germany’s strikers at the 2026 World Cup!
West Ham, waiting for an answer from #BVB after €25m offered. Füllkrug can sign until 2027 + 1. Now it’s up to Dortmund to agree.
West Ham’s offer to Borussia Dortmund looks fair and could help push the transfer through per Plettenberg:
⚒️ EXCLUSIVE | West Ham have made an official offer of €25m (with add-ons) for Niclas #Füllkrug!
#BVB have not yet rejected this offer, but they are looking for €30m all-in. #WHUFC won’t pay that.
The 31 y/o is keen to join West Ham with immediate effect. He can sign a contract until 2027 + 1. Same salary as in Dortmund. No total agreement yet.
If BVB demand too much, West Ham want to pull out of the deal and try to finalize the deal with Jhon Duran (Aston Villa).
