In recent days, the talks between Bayern Munich and Manchester United have started to heat up again.
Both outside-back Noussair Mazraoui and center-back Matthijs de Ligt could be on their way to England, so it is no coincidence that rumors began to resurface linking Bayer Leverkusen defender and Germany international Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich.
For a few weeks now, talks have been dormant because Bayer Leverkusen’s financial demands were too high, but that could be changing per Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg:
Bayern’s offer of €20m (+5) for Jonathan #Tah is still on the table and valid. Leverkusen has now moved away from €35/40m.
This is also because Tah has once again made it clear internally in recent days that he will not extend his contract and wants to join Bayern immediately. Leverkusen wants a decision soon.
An agreement in the range of €30m (25+5) is conceivable.
It seems as if Tah’s potential transfer is directly linked to what happens with De Ligt. Would it be the worst thing if Bayern Munich waited out Tah’s contract until he was a free agent next summer? No, but it appears that the Bavarians want him pretty badly and to get him, there will be a cost associated with such a transaction.
