Following the return of Bayern Munich’s Germany internationals at Euro 2024, Bayern lined up against Tottenham in Seoul for one of the highlights of the Bavarians’ friendly schedule this summer. As one of the Germans at Euro 2024, Joshua Kimmich was not privy to new head coach Vincent Kompany’s tactics and training before his return from vacation. Now he has had a chance to witness it all up close, giving him the chance to determine how well Kompany’s style is translating to the team.
Speaking after the match, as captured by Bayern’s official website, Kimmich had this to say about the game: “You could already see a certain thumbprint. I think it was nice for the spectators too, it went back and forth. Both teams played attacking football and pressed one-on-one. I’m very hungry for the new season and we have ambitious goals together.”
It must be a rewarding feeling to be able to put all those hard hours on the training pitch to use on the playing field. Hopefully this will become a trend at Bayern as Kimmich looks to turn that hunger into renewed success for the Bavarian giants on the footballing field.
