Per a post from Fabrizio Romano (as captured by @iMiSanMia) on Saturday night, Bayern Munich is leading Paris Saint-Germain on Rennes attacker Désiré Doué.
This much we already knew, but Romano expanded on just how Bayern Munich nudged itself ahead of PSG in the race:
As of tonight, Bayern have a ‘small advantage’ over PSG for Désiré Doué because they’ve been pushing a lot this week on club side with Rennes to agree a fee. The player has appreciated these efforts. That’s why Bayern are favourites at the moment. But PSG are still in the race and the story is still open. Doué has still not communicated his final decision. Tonight, Bayern are favourites, but that doesn’t mean it’s done.
It seems that Bayern Munich’s persistence is winning over the 19-year-old winger. Perhaps, Doué just wants to feel wanted? Regardless, it remains to be seen if he would still feel that way in six months as part of an already overcrowded attacking group in Bavaria.
As they say, though, that is a problem for another day.
