Robert Lewandowski and Hansi Flick were part of the Bayern Munich team that beat FC Barcelona 8-2 in the Champions League four years ago, but a weird twist in fate saw them two now part of the latter team. Speaking to Sport Bild (as captured by Florian Plettenberg / @plettigoal), Lewandowski said that the former Germany manager is a great fit for the Catalans.
“I am very happy and satisfied to be working with Hansi again, the 35-year-old Polish striker said. “I believe that we will have a great season and end up holding a trophy in our hands. We should not stop attacking after a 1-0 lead but continue to offer a spectacle. Because that is the DNA this club stands for, and Hansi fits this DNA very well with his offensive approach.”
Considering that Barca’s systems under former coach Xavi and even during the days of Ronald Koeman saw irregular service given to the striker, Lewy’s claims are surely a breath of fresh air for Barcelona who are still trying to get back to their best.
If you also saw Barca’s latest “lever“, it’s honestly baffling as to how they come up with them.
