FC Barcelona made it official — rumored Bayern Munich transfer target Dani Olmo has left RB Leipzig in favor of FC Barcelona. The move came after it was initial reported on by Fabrizio Romano, who posted his information earlier this week:
EXCL: Dani Olmo to Barça, here we go! Verbal agreement in place after key mission in Leipzig for Barça director Deco.
€55m guaranteed package plus €7m in add-ons, main part difficult to reach.
Olmo agreed on six year deal valid until June 2030 and he wanted Barça move.
Now, though, it is official:
RB Leipzig also announced the move:
Olmo spent the last four years at RB Leipzig where he shaped to become one of the standout players of this generation, after which he headed to the 2024 Euros in Germany and won it with Spain. This attracted the interest of Bayern Munich and a whole host of other clubs looking to land the 26-year-old. Ultimately, it was his boyhood club that won him over and brought him home.
Olmo progressed through the Barcelona youth ranks at the same time Lionel Messi was at his peak, so the then 16-year-old Olmo transferred to Dinamo Zagreb. He played for the Croatian club for six years before Leipzig brought him back west.
