If there is one player above all others, who has benefitted from putting in work in front of new coach Vincent Kompany, it might be Serge Gnabry.
Gnabry, who turned in an extremely strong effort against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, seems to be winning over the coaching staff — and maybe the club higher-ups as well — with his performances so far.
Sky Sport journalist posted Florian Plettenberg posted that Gnabry has made strides so far under Kompany:
Serge #Gnabry has made a very good impression under the new coach Vincent #Kompany so far. Clear tendency: he will stay at FC Bayern.
Despite all of that, Gnabry’s position on the squad is still in question. With competition from Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman (as of now), Michael Olise, Mathys Tel, and Arijon Ibrahimović for a starting position, it is no certainty that Gnabry will have a key role under Kompany.
Factoring in that Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Thomas Müller, and Raphaël Guerreiro could also see time at wing on occasion, the position group is very crowded.
And none of that factors in what happens if Bayern Munich succeeds in its pursuit of Désiré Doué.
