Rumors swirled that Bayern Munich was going to walk away from a pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen center-back and Germany international Jonathan Tah, but Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg posted that the Bavarians could still be in the mix for the 28-year-old:
No surprise and as expected: FC Bayern let the deadline (yesterday at 11:59 PM) and set by Leverkusen pass without making an €30m offer for Jonathan #Tah ✔️
▫️There is still no approval for a new offer from Bayern‘s supervisory board since De Ligt and Mazraoui have not been sold yet. And there was never a breakthrough in the last days
▫️But: Tah poker continues! Three weeks left until Deadline Day. Vincent Kompany still pushing for Tah. Agent Pini Zahavi wants to get the deal done in August as soon as De Ligt will join ManUtd.
FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick was — allegedly — offered an opportunity to acquire N’Golo Kanté, but has — reportedly — turned it down:
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick rejected the chance to try sign Al Ittihad midfielder N’Golo Kante this summer in favour of handing minutes to young players like Marc Casado and Marc Bernal.
Given the subject matter, there is not much need for a preamble when it comes to Bayern Munich — this offseason has been filled with peaks and valleys. Let’s discuss those and a lot more on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show. This is what we have on tap:
- Bayern Munich is reportedly going to pass on a transfer of Bayer Leverkusen center-back Jonathan Tah — even if it sells Matthijs de Ligt to Manchester United.
- What Vincent Kompany’s plan to use Joshua Kimmich in the central midfield means for João Palhinha, Leon Goretzka, Konrad Laimer — and the biggest loser, Aleksandar Pavlović. Plus, how this affects the right-back candidates, Josip Stanišić and Sacha Boey.
- What do we need to look for during Bayern Munich’s friendly vs. Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
- Finally, we are taking some dragon fire straight to that House of the Dragon season finale…yup, it was terrible and confirmed that this season was all about treading water — a mortal sin for a show.

Torino’s President Urbano Cairo about a potential transfer: ⤵️
“I like Gosens, that’s obvious. We’ve been talking with him for three months. It started when his agent told us about him, and we were very happy; we said, ‘How great that we could get Gosens.’ There were talks with him, we spoke with his agent. Now it appears that he feels flattered, but he hasn’t made up his mind yet. It’s not a matter of salary, but of conviction. If there is no conviction, it won’t happen.”
We are in the home stretch of the summer transfer window and Bayern Munich still has some moves to make to help thin out the herd on the roster. Who might stay? Who might go? That will all be determined in the next few weeks.

- The latest on Joshua Kimmich and why it is not such a certainty that he will sign a contract extension.

Bayern Munich went to Seoul, South Korea and came away with an impressive win over Tottenham Hotspur, dominating the game and scoring two goals. Meanwhile, on the PR side of things, Thomas Müller has been getting more attention than ever. Players, coaches, and executives can’t stop talking about how much of a “legend” he is, leading to a oversaturation of common buzzwords. Is something afoot?
In this episode, INNN discusses the following topics:
- The five major things Vincent Kompany got RIGHT vs Spurs.
- Why this matters for the upcoming season.
- Why some players seemed to settle into the new system despite a lack of prior training.
- Similarities (and differences) to Pep, Nagelsmann, and Flick.

- Why loaning Bryan Zaragoza seems like a good idea.
