Bayern Munich defender Eric Dier was glad to be back in London, but he was even happier to help secure a 3-2 victory over his old team, Tottenham Hotspur.
“I’m happy. It’s just the beginning with a new coach. It wasn’t perfect, but we’re doing our best and trying to adapt better and better to each other, and want to implement the coach’s ideas better and better. It’s about us developing and improving. We don’t have much time left. The next friendly is on Tuesday and then comes the first competitive game. We’ll be ready next week,” Dier said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Dier has played a key role on the backline so far, but it remains to be seen if he will be someone who Vincent Kompany relies upon when the big games start. For the Englishman, it has been, “so far, so good” during his Bayern Munich career, which is a great thing.
