Bayern Munich midfielder Konrad Laimer took some time to talk about teammate Kim Min-jae,the Korean’s first season in Germany, and how the 27-year-old approaches his career.
“He’s a really good player, he has everything. A really nice guy. As we arrived at the same time, it’s normal to stick together as the new guys. We talked a lot. We shared that first year together. We’ve both looked to improve from day-to-day, week-to-week,” Laimer told The Korea JoongAng Daily (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “As a whole group, we support each other. Everyone has up and down seasons, but it is about improving as a group. We are motivated going into the new season and will use this preseason to start strong.”
Laimer and Min-jae will both be fighting for positions this season. The Austrian has an uphill battle in the central midfield, while Min-jae will need to avoid some of the lapses he experienced in the second half of last season.
