Bayern Munich legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge became the latest member of the club to espouse the greatness that was Manuel Neuer’s international career.
“Manuel Neuer has already made history with his brilliant career in the national team. In my opinion, he’s the greatest goalkeeper that German football has ever produced. He changed the goalkeeping game and took it to a new level, he set standards and ensured that goalkeepers all over the world emulated his style. His signing in 2011 was one of the best transfers that FC Bayern has ever made,” Rummenigge told Abendzeitung’s Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “From Manuel’s point of view, the decision to focus exclusively on FC Bayern is resolute and right — and he will do everything to ensure that the coming season is more successful than the last.”
Rummenigge hit on all of the pertinent points, especially Neuer’s ability to prepare for a long, grinding season in Bavaria. Will this decision help provide Neuer with the extra boost of rest and relaxation that he so desperately needs.
