Leeds United have been rebuffed in a £13million move for Sheffield United midfielder Gus Hamer but are weighing up an improved bid for Cologne’s Dejan Lubijic.
Championship rivals Sheffield United are reluctant to sell Hamer after his release clause recently expired.
The Brazil-born former Holland U20 international joined Sheffield United from Coventry City for £15m last summer and signed a four year deal.

Leeds will sign Manor Solomon on loan from Spurs today after the winger passed his medical and will try again for Cologne midfielder Dejan Lubijic.
The 26-year-old Austria international is keen to make the move but Leeds’ offer, understood to be worth up to £8m, has been rejected.
Meanwhile, former Leeds captain Liam Cooper could be poised to make his debut for Hull City against Leeds at Elland Road this Saturday. Free agent Cooper, 32, is in talks to finalise his move for Hull this week.
