Oasis star Noel Gallagher was spotted in the crowd amongst his fellow Man City fans at the London Stadium for the game against West Ham.
Forget making Sally wait, Noel Gallagher left Karren waiting when West Ham welcomed Manchester City to east London last week, Brady that is.
The Oasis reunion has been dominating headlines and tickets went on sale on the morning of West Ham’s 3-1 defeat to Man City.
So cameras were trained on the director’s box at West Ham to see whether Noel and/or Liam would be watching their team.
But there was no sign of the singer-songwriter alongside the likes of majority owner David Sullivan and co at the London Stadium.
Why Noel Gallagher refused to go in West Ham director’s box
Instead Gallagher was caught on the Sky Sports cameras in amongst his fellow Manchester City fans.
He would have enjoyed what he saw too as Erling Haaland scored another hat-trick to condemn West Ham to a 3-1 defeat.
Although Noel Gallagher has been spotted on the terraces down the years, many were surprised to see him make such a public appearance at West Ham on the day Oasis tickets went on sale.
Well he wasn’t meant to it seems.
A journalist has shared why Oasis star Gallagher refused to go in the West Ham director’s box for the Man City clash.
Oasis star snubbed chairman’s suite at London Stadium
Speaking in the Reading the Game newsletter on Friday, Miguel Delaney has revealed Gallagher actually snubbed a place in the chairman’s suite alongside Sullivan and vice-chair Karren Brady.
Delaney says Gallagher did not want to take up his place in ‘the most lucrative seats in the stadium’ for one very simple reason.
Man City’s joint best known fan was having none of West Ham’s dress code.
“Given we’ve now had two weeks of Oasis, with a lot of it related to ticket prices, there is a snippet from the football world,” Delaney said.
“You will doubtless have seen Noel Gallagher in the stands at West Ham United last week, as his Manchester City team won 3-1.
“That just wasn’t his original seat.
Noel not a fan of Sullivan and Brady’s dress code rules
“Noel had been offered a place in the chairman’s suite with West Ham co-owner David Sullivan and Karren Brady. In other words, the most lucrative seats in the stadium.
“He refused because the dress code for the suite is business suits, and Noel wasn’t bothered. A ticket for which he could dress as he pleased was sorted instead.
“Perhaps it was just surprising that he didn’t wear the tops he showcased with Pep Guardiola on social media.”
Hopefully West Ham don’t look back in anger at the incident.
The Hammers will be angry with Gallagher’s club, though.
Not only did Man City boss Pep Guardiola liken the West Ham match to a pre-season game.
But the Premier League champions have also taken another top talent from the Hammers academy this week.
