The second away kit was launched earlier on, as it should see us all reflect on the Ice Kings, going back 60 years, with players from that era still around. Richie Norman, Howard Riley and Mike Stringfellow are three grand heroes from that time, coming in, to give the new white shirt that special identity.
Leicester used to be all about blue and white, nothing else back in those days. Leicester also had a red kit at a time during the 60’s. Red Leicester is a cheese, not a football kit, so that one could definately be frozen forever.
The blue colours of the first kit, or home kit if you like, is one that we feel looks good, some miss the white shorts, as it is the real Leicester colours. To have an all white is also good, but the badge should not be trolled with and turned into a frozen alternative.
Last season Leicester had the original black kit with the blue ribbon, going back to the very first days of the clubs history. The black kit this season, has no history with the club, looks a bit odd, as it is just another random design.
Colours are identity and it should not be fooled with. Premier League should freeze the colours and not let any club just use random colours, season in and season out. Of course you could change designs and patterns inside those colours, but not change it all, as that makes it difficult to understand the identity of the club.
If you like the change of colours, then training gear and other type of clothes being on sale, could be brought changing, but in all it’s about a brand and identity and at this point we do not really know what type of colours Leicester do wear, and that is a pity.
The colours of the kit is the identity home and away, and should not in any way be trolled with, that waters out the brand and identity big time. Hopefully we will see a change coming, never wondering what colours your team are using, home and away.
You should have no problem to identify the Premier League clubs by their colours, the same should be for their away and second away kit.
