Julen Lopetegui has named his West Ham United starting XI for today’s Premier League clash with Brentford.
West Ham desperately need a result against Brentford this afternoon, with the Premier League table looking rather bleak for us right now.
Julen Lopetegui has to get things right at the London Stadium sooner rather than later, and his future at the club is apparently already hanging in the balance.
The Hammers are currently sitting in 14th place in the Premier League table, having taken just four points from our opening five games.
A win today is much-needed, and three points would see us move up into mid-table.
However, a defeat would be disastrous for Lopetegui and his hopes of turning things around. So what lineup has the Spaniard selected for such an important game?
West Ham starting XI vs Brentford confirmed
Lopetegui absolutely has to get this team selection 100 per cent spot on today.
It’s a massive game this afternoon, and the outcome will have huge ramifications for the Spaniard and his players.
Lopetegui has made three changes from the defeat to Chelsea last weekend, as confirmed by the club’s official X account:
Alphonse Areola, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo, Emerson Palmieri, Guido Rodriguez, Tomas Soucek, Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio
Todibo, Soucek and Antonio come into the side in place of Konstantinos Mavropanos, the suspended Edson Alvarez and Crysencio Summerville.
Regardless of the team selected by Lopetegui, every single player needs to put in top performances this afternoon.
Brentford are a tough team to beat away from home – we haven’t done it in the league since 1953 would you believe!
That said, we definitely have the players needed to hurt the Bees, and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to win the match today.
The West Ham starting XI selected by Julen Lopetegui has more than enough about it to get the job done in West London.
