Julen Lopetegui has had numerous problems with picking his best West Ham United starting lineup this season.
He has chopped and changed his team at an alarming rate, and it kind of feels like we have no stability right now at West Ham.
Julen Lopetegui needs to find a system that works and settle on his best XI.
In fact, the Spaniard really needs to settle on the players who are best able to carry out his instructions.
Lopetegui is said to be under real pressure right now, with his job apparently already under threat.
However, claims in England suggest that that is in fact far from the case, and the 58-year-old retains the full support of the board.
It will be interesting to see what happens over the next month or so, with some huge games coming up for West Ham against the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United.
However, our next game is the most important one right now – a home clash with Ipswich Town on Saturday.
And one man has made it impossible for Lopetegui to drop him…
West Ham man Tomas Soucek undroppable under Julen Lopetegui
I can’t quite believe we’ve reached a point whereby almost every single Hammers fan wants Tomas Soucek to start this weekend against Ipswich Town.
He has been crucial for us during a really challenging first six weeks of the season, and he always speaks honestly about what’s going on at the club – that’s why fans relate to him.
The midfielder said he and his his teammates should be embarrassed, after they conceded inside the first minute against Brentford on Saturday.
However, he was one of the few who would have been able to leave the pitch with his head held high.
Now, I know that we all love Soucek, and the fight and passion he shows when playing for us is second to none.
However, he is the worst player we have at the club with the ball at his feet.
Sure, he has a lot of strengths, but passing is not one of them. He has averaged a pass completion rate of 77.6% in the Premier League this season and last term he recorded 75.7% (Who Scored).
When Lopetegui took over from David Moyes, most fans believed that Soucek would be one of the first players out the door.
In what has been quite a remarkable turnaround though, he’s arguably become one of the first names on the team-sheet now.
The Athletic described him as one of our worst players last year, his aerial strength not withstanding. So it’s been great to see him prove so many people wrong, myself included.
Soucek crucial for West Ham
The Czech Republic international has proven a lot of fans wrong over the past month or so.
Whilst many of his teammates have been underperforming, Soucek has been in incredible form, and the fact of the matter is that he’s now undroppable.
The 29-year-old has scored crucial goals for the Hammers in the Premier League this season, away at Crystal Palace and Brentford.
Everyone is fully aware of his aerial strength. When he doesn’t play, we miss him badly when defending set-pieces.
I was one of the fans calling for Julen Lopetegui to get rid of Tomas Soucek when he took over at West Ham earlier this summer.
However, I’m big enough to admit I got it wrong. The Czech Republic international has proven over the past few weeks and months that he still has a lot to offer the Hammers.
Remarkably, Soucek is actually undroppable now.
