A round-up of stories about the new Everton Stadium and other off-the-field news from across the past week
Work on the new Everton Stadium continues at a pace. And, with the build set to be completed by December, here is a round-up of all the stories around Bramley-Moore Dock and other Blues off-the-field news from over the past week.
Everton field multiple offers in battle for naming rights of new stadium
Everton have received offers from organisations eager to win the battle for naming rights at the club’s new stadium. Bids have been presented to directors in recent months, with commercial chief Richard Kenyon stating “good progress” is being made on the matter.
The expectation is that any deal secured would be a long-term one that would cover at least the first decade of football at what is set to be an iconic waterfront venue.

The Blues’ search for a stadium naming rights partner remains ongoing and has the potential to be a lucrative opportunity worth tens of millions of pounds.
Providing an update on the process Richard Kenyon, the club’s chief commercial and operations officer, said: “We have… continued to make good progress on stadium naming rights, with offers presented to our board of directors in recent months. No-one will appreciate more than our supporters the need for us to make sure the brand we choose is the right long-term fit for the club, with any deal likely to be at least 10 years.”

The Friedkin Group step in to provide millions worth of funds as new Everton dawn nears
Prospective Everton owners, The Friedkin Group (TFG), will be stepping in to provide the club with working capital between now and completion of the deal. The American firm could be in situ before the end of December.
Everton move into their new 52,888-seater stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock at the start of next season. The new stadium, while a financial millstone around the club’s neck in recent years that has required it to borrow from multiple lenders to meet construction costs, will be a game changer from a commercial point of view and it is something that was a major part of the appeal for TFG.
It hasn’t yet been funded to completion, though, with some remaining tranches of funding required in order to complete the fit-out project.
And the ECHO understands that The Friedkin Group, even before taking over officially, will be stepping in to ensure the project is funded to completion as well as covering any working capital costs the club may need in the short term. The sum is likely to stretch into the “tens of millions”, according to sources

And club photographer Tony McArdle was on site to capture them with a series of images courtesy of the Everton Official Photography Library from SmartFrame that get up close to reveal what promises to become one of the most iconic venues in world football.

Kevin Campbell Foundation And EitC Join Forces To Preserve Everton Icon’s Legacy
Everton in the Community will help ensure the legacy of Kevin Campbell lives on through the recently founded Kevin Campbell Foundation. Lambeth-born Campbell’s career at Everton, for whom he netted 51 times in 164 appearances, had great historical significance.
He was immensely proud to be named the club’s first black captain in 2001, and he cherished the Merseyside derby goal he scored at the Kop End in 1999, which remains the last match-winner at Anfield by an Everton player in front of fans.
Campbell was loved by fans across the country and his family are keen to build his legacy with the establishment of the Kevin Campbell Foundation, which will see donations used to fund causes and initiatives that were close to Kevin’s heart.
Campbell was passionate about his humanitarian work and giving back to disadvantaged communities through charitable work underpinned by his love for football. He made a difference by accompanying charities on international aid missions to Iraq and Africa where he spent time giving out football kits, boots, clothing and medicines to those in need as well as meeting with those in need to understand their problems in an effort to try and find solutions.
The Kevin Campbell Foundation will work with Everton in the Community and the Arsenal Foundation, to help support young people in Liverpool and north London to empower them to reach their full potential, providing them with opportunities to achieve their goals.
The Campbell family said: “We are delighted to be working with Everton in the Community. Kevin was passionate about Everton Football Club, and the Everton fans held a special place in his heart.”
Sue Gregory, Everton in the Community CEO said, “Kevin was a larger-than-life character with a big heart and was held in such high regard by Evertonians and anyone who had the honour of spending time in his company. We are excited to work with his family as they develop the Kevin Campbell Foundation to leave a lasting legacy of a great man and help create brighter futures for the younger generation of Merseyside.”
