West Ham United could well miss out on the signing of Omar Marmoush to Arsenal it seems.
Omar Marmoush is a player who West Ham have been tracking for some time now, but a big claim about Arsenal has just come to light, and it’s a devastating blow for the Hammers.
Julen Lopetegui desperately needs a top-class striker at the London Stadium – someone with real pace and explosive movement.
However, it’s highly doubtful now that Marmoush will be a realistic target for us.
It was recently claimed that Omar Marmoush is ‘likely to join West Ham’ in the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt forward is a very special talent, so the thought of him joining the Hammers was understandably an extremely exciting one.
However, it seems like our dream of signing the 32-capped Egypt international is over before it even began, with Arsenal being the forward’s favoured move.
According to German journalist Christian Falk, the rapid attacker is dreaming of joining our London rivals Arsenal from Eintracht Frankfurt.
That is quite obviously a real sucker punch for the Hammers.
Sensational Omar Marmoush would be unreal in England
TEAMtalk recently claimed that the fleet-footed attacker will cost around £40 million – very good value for someone with his ability n this day and age.
Marmoush has been described as ‘explosive’ by the Bundesliga’s official website.
Meanwhile, the same website has already highlighted the Egyptian’s ‘dazzling form’ for Eintracht Frankfurt this term.
If there’s one thing we’re missing in the striker department right now, it’s explosive pace – something that Marmoush has in abundance.
The 25-year-old has bagged seven goals and five assists in eight games in all competitions for Frankfurt so far this term.
Last season, he racked up an impressive 17 goals and six assists in 41 appearances.
Marmoush possesses blistering pace, incredible movement and his has a real eye for goal.
The Eintracht Frankfurt star is a striker by trade, but he can play on either wing as well.
What an incredible signing Omar Marmoush would be for West Ham, but it seems like Arsenal could well be in prime position to sign the Egyptian now.
And that really hurts.
