West Ham United earned a vital three points after our 4-1 win over Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday.
The performance was so much better from the West Ham players, and Julen Lopetegui would have breathed a big sigh of relief when the game was over.
A recent report out in Spain claimed that Lopetegui’s job was actually already under threat at one point.
However, claims in England suggest that that is in fact far from the case, and the 58-year-old retains the full support of the board.
Still, the 4-1 victory over Ipswich certainly eased the pressure that Lopetegui was undoubtedly under.
Those inside the London Stadium were buzzing yesterday, after the players put in their best all-round performance of the season so far.
And there was an unexpected bonus for the Hammers fans watching the game as well…
£4m fee worth it for West Ham as video emerges from Ipswich win
So, it seems like the Hammers owners finally got recuperated for a £4 million fee that they spent recently.
Kalvin Phillips returned to the London Stadium for the first time since his ill-fated four-month loan spell with West Ham last season.
The 28-year-old was so poor for us that one talkSPORT pundit even suggested that he should personally refund the Hammers after ‘sabotaging’ our season.
The relationship between Phillips and the West Ham fans reached rock bottom at the end of March when he was filmed flipping the middle finger at a Hammers supporter after his shocking performance away at Newcastle.
However, Phillips has finally given back to West Ham in the most comical way possible!
It was claimed by a reporter close to David Sullivan that the loan deal for Phillips cost West Ham £4 million all in.
That now seems like money well spent after a brilliant video emerged from our win over Ipswich, when Jarrod Bowen put us 3-1 up.

Now, don’t get me wrong, the goal from Bowen was a sensational one. However, Phillips made it far too easy for him.
The Ipswich midfielder will be embarrassed by the ease with which he allowed the Hammers forward to cut inside onto his favoured left foot.
The West Ham fans watching Phillips’ performance for Ipswich would not have been surprised one little bit with just how poor he was.
The Englishman gave the ball away cheaply inside the first minute of the game in the build-up to Michail Antonio’s goal for the Hammers.
His spell at the London Stadium was disastrous from start to finish, and he will undoubtedly go down as one of the worst signings we have ever made.
It’s my personal opinion that David Moyes’s decision to bring the 28-year-old to the Hammers cost us a finish inside the European spots.
After Phillips’ shocking performance for Ipswich against West Ham though, it felt like sweet revenge for the Hammers.
A little bit of payback finally!
