West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus continues to shine as one of Europe’s elite wingers, even amidst our club’s slower-than-expected start to the season. The Ghanaian winger might not be firing on all cylinders but he’s still placed himself among the top three dribblers in European football, sandwiched between Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal.
Last season, Kudus was in a league of his own, completing over 20 more dribbles than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues. His incredible footwork and agility made him possibly the best dribbler we’ve seen at The London Stadium since Dimitri Payet. Amazingly, despite West Ham’s current average form, he’s at it again and back at the top of the dribbling charts.
Under new boss Julen Lopetegui, West Ham have been patchy at best, but Kudus continues to produce the numbers. His ability to take on defenders with ease has made him a key asset, even if he hasn’t hit full stride from the left wing. The competition this season is fierce, with Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal putting in equally impressive performances, so Kudus won’t have it all his own way this season.
Mbappé is a quality operator playing in a ridiculously good team, while Yamal, the young sensation, has taken Europe by storm. Yet, Kudus is still plugging away, trailing Yamal by just one dribble. It’s a testament to his quality and determination, and we back our star winger to reclaim his crown as Europe’s dribbling king for the 2024-25 season. West Ham may have challenges ahead, but with Kudus in the squad, there’s every reason for optimism. . . just imagine what he could do in his proper position.
