Bobby De Cordova-Reid was in the starting line-up and played the full game for Jamaica in their 2-0 win vs. Nicaragua. This was a Concacaf Nations League fixture, as Steve McLaren’s men are second in the table after three games. Demarai Gray was also in the starting line-up, leaving the field after 84 minutes.
Danny Ward was again chosen as goalkeeper for Wales, and made his 43rd cap. This ended in a 2-2 draw after Tomasson put the burners on to beat Connor Roberts out wide, before getting to the byline and squeezing an effort under Ward at his near post from the tightest of angles. The goal was officially given as a Ward own goal, but Tomasson’s introduction off the bench at half-time had clearly changed the course of this contest.
Wilfred Ndidi was in the Nigeria line-up for their AFCON qualifier vs. Lybia, to see Super Eagles winning 1-0.
Tawanda Maswanhise was an unused sub for Zimbabwe in their 1-0 away win vs. Namibia. Calvin Bassey and Ademola Lookman were both in the starting line-up, Kelechi Iheanacho an unused sub.
Yunus Akgun was in the starting line-up for Turkey in their 1-0 home win vs. Montenegro. Viktor Johansson was in goal for Sweden in their 2-2 draw away to Slovakia.
Denmark will be in action vs. Spain tonight, possibly fielding Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen. Mads Hermansen is also in the squad, but again Kasper Schmeichel will certainly be preferred.
Roberto Mancini is in charge of the Saudi Arabia national team, as they were defeated 2-0 at home to Japan.
More updates to follow on the results and players as international action continues.
