Fulham, Everton, Leicester and Leeds have all been linked with a move for FCSB’s Joyskim Dawa, who has been capped nine times by Cameroon
Leeds United, Everton and Fulham are reportedly keeping a close eye on Steaua Bucharest’s centre-back Joyskim Dawa. The 28 year-old has been making waves in the Europa League this season, contributing to his team’s victory in their first two matches.
Despite spending most of his career playing in Ukraine, Latvia and Romania, Dawa, who has represented Cameroon nine times, is eager to make his Premier League debut. Scouts from various clubs across England and Europe have reportedly watched him put on a stellar performance in a hard-fought 1-0 win over PAOK before the international break.
Leicester City and Burnley have also shown interest in the player, according to the Mirror, who say he is being described as a ‘late bloomer’. Dawa’s agents believe he has what it takes to compete at the highest level and, importantly, he could be a steal as his current contract includes a release clause of around £4 million.

As the January transfer window approaches, there are discussions suggesting that Dawa could provide excellent competition for first-choice centre-backs. Fulham, in particular, have a good rapport with his agents, having previously expressed interest in fellow Cameroonian defender Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui in 2019 when he was playing for Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.
Representatives made the journey to London for discussions with the Fulham board, yet no deal was struck, leading to his subsequent move to Belgian outfit Gent. It is believed the Cottagers had engaged in a recent round of negotiations with Dawa’s agents just last week.
In the summer, Steaua owner Gigi Becali clearly stated that Dawa could depart the Romanian side if his transfer wishes were met, pronouncing: “If someone pays the money for him, we will let him go! “.
