Manchester United centre-back and long-term West Ham United transfer target Harry Maguire is available at a cut-price fee it seems.
West Ham have been linked with Harry Maguire of Manchester United for quite some time now, most recently back in April when it was claimed that he was being offered to us.
Maguire has struggled in general for Man United, since moving to Old Trafford from Leicester City in the summer of 2019 for a whopping £80 million fee (BBC).
In my opinion, the 31-year-old’s struggles have centred around his inability to play in Man United’s high line.
He was superb in a deep block for Leicester, and he would have been equally brilliant under David Moyes at West Ham.
I actually think he would flourish for West Ham with Julen Lopetegui in charge at the London Stadium as well.
But do the majority of other Hammers fans agree with that statement?
West Ham fans all saying the same thing on X about Harry Maguire
It was claimed just a couple of days ago that Manchester United are now willing to sell the experienced centre-back for a bargain £10 million fee in January (Evening Standard).
In this day and age, that price would represent an unbelievably good deal.
Maguire is far from finished at the very highest level. I just feel like Manchester United is not the right club for him right now.
And I believe that Maguire would be given a new lease of life if he decided to join West Ham in the January transfer window.
But do other Hammers fans agree?
And the tweets from West Ham fans begging for the club to sign Maguire carried on and on and on…
Yes, signing Maguire is a no-brainer for West Ham
The Manchester United defender would be a great addition to Lopetegui’s ranks at the London Stadium.
If Lopetegui wants to use a 3-5-2 system, the 31-year-old would be the perfect partner for Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman.
Maguire is one of the strongest defenders in the world aerially, and he’d be vital to improving our defending from set-pieces, as well as being a real danger in the opposition’s box from corners and free-kicks.
The England international is a real leader as well. With leadership being something we desperately lack in the squad right now, Maguire’s influence would be priceless.
The opportunity to sign Harry Maguire for £10 million is one that West Ham cannot afford to miss out on as far as I’m concerned.
And I really hope that Lopetegui sees it that way as well.
