Julen Lopetegui has mistreated one West Ham United player in particular according to a Hammers reporter.
West Ham appointed Julen Lopetegui to replace David Moyes at the London Stadium in the summer.
However, the Spaniard has experienced an incredibly difficult start to life in charge of the Hammers, with Saturday’s 4-1 loss away at Tottenham causing real friction behind the scenes.
Things are not going well right now, and the West Ham board must be asking serious questions of Lopetegui after the huge summer spend they bankrolled.
That said, it has been claimed that the Hammers owners are not set to make any knee-jerk reactions, and are prepared to give Lopetegui time to turn things around.
The 58-year-old West Ham boss has been criticised for many things since arriving in East London.
And one of them has been his treatment of certain players…
Julen Lopetegui’s treatment of West Ham player has been terrible
The Spaniard made nine new signings for the Hammers in the summer.
However, he has struggled to get the best out of many of them, aside from Max Kilman and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Athletic journalist Roshane Thomas has criticised Lopetegui for his treatment of Crysencio Summerville.
Summerville is still yet to be given ample opportunities to prove his true worth for West Ham.
Thomas said, “The slow integration of Crysencio Summerville into the XI is no longer justified.“
The 22-year-old former Leeds winger possesses electric pace, and he’s exactly what we need right now to really mix things up inside the final third.
Summerville was electric for Leeds last season, and it seemed like the Hammers had got a real steal by signing him for just £20 million in the summer.
However, Lopetegui’s failure to throw him straight into the team means that we are still yet to see the best of him at West Ham.
He will surely be given his chance now, with Mohammed Kudus banned for at least three games.
And I’m hoping that Crysencio Summerville will make Julen Lopetegui look very silly indeed by starring for West Ham over our next three games.
