Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany knew that Union Berlin’s team defense was going to be a struggle to deal with for his attacking group.
However, Bayern Munich’s relentless style of play was able to overwhelm Union Berlin on the way to a 3-0 victory. For Kompany, the match was never really all that comfortable, even if many observers felt that the Bavarians were dominant.
“Union were really solid defensively in the first half. I was a bit concerned that maybe we weren’t realizing how dangerous the game was in the first half. The team worked very hard in the first and second half, so that always helps you if you have a good team. I was really happy with the performance in the second half because we did very well. It was a tough game and I’m happy with the result,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich was dominant in every aspect of the match and always had the match firmly in hand. While it is Kompany’s job to sweat every game out, this one might have been a game where he could have relaxed a bit,
