Julen Lopetegui is a man under real pressure, after Nottingham Forest beat West Ham United 3-0 on Saturday.
West Ham were quite simply awful against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, and whilst Edson Alvarez’s needless red card didn’t help, Julen Lopetegui is still very much to blame for his side’s capitulation.
The Hammers are a club in crisis right now – that’s really not an exaggeration, and the vultures are gathering outside Lopetegui’s London Stadium office.
It’s obvious to see that the West Ham owners made the wrong appointment back in the summer.
David Sullivan should have gone all out to bring Ruben Amorim to the London Stadium, but that’s a debate for another time.
For the here and now, the focus has to be fully on Lopetegui.
He has failed miserably since moving to West Ham in my opinion, and one thing he did today was a sackable offence if you ask me.
Julen Lopetegui made unforgivable decision vs Nottingham Forest
There were a whole host of bad calls made by the Spaniard during our defeat up at the City Ground.
His bizarre decision not to play a striker was eyebrow-raising, whilst his switch to three centre-backs felt like an unnecessary move.
It’s very clear that he STILL doesn’t know his best team – that’s just not good enough after four months at the club.
However, there was one call the Spaniard made during the Forest loss that was simply inexplicable.
Lopetegui decided to take Crysencio Summerville off at half-time – a horrendous call that made no sense whatsoever.
We were down to 10 men, so it was obvious we would be playing on the counter attack, and he chose to take off the one player we have who possesses blistering pace…you literally couldn’t make it up.
Now, I admit that Summerville wasn’t at his best in the first-half against Forest.
But what kind of message does taking the winger off send out, after his heroics against Manchester United last weekend.
I genuinely feel really sorry for the 23-year-old.
He’s not being given a fair chance by the Hammers head coach right now, and it’s utterly disgraceful if you ask me.
Julen Lopetegui’s decision to haul Crysencio Summerville of at half-time during our defeat to Nottingham Forest was unacceptable, and in my opinion, unforgivable.
He should be sacked tonight.
