Former Bayern Munich prospect and current Werder Bremen right-back Mitchell Weiser has made the change from being affiliated with the DFB to now being a part of Algeria’s international football squad.
Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg tracked down the news after much speculation:
Mitchell #Weiser will make his debut for Algeria in November ✔️
Werder Bremen boss Peter Niemeyer confirms via Sky 90:
“The invitation has reached us, and he will travel to Algeria during the next international break to play for the national team.”
FIFA has already confirmed that the switch from the German Football Association (DFB) to the Algerian federation is complete.
Algeria will take on Equatorial Guinea and Liberia during the next international break.
