West Ham United face a hugely important Premier League game against Everton on Saturday.
The Premier League clash between West Ham and Everton is the most important game of the season so far, for both sides.
Julen Lopetegui needs a win against Everton at the London Stadium like you can’t believe.
It has actually been claimed that Lopetegui could be sacked, if the players fail to put in a convincing display against the Toffees.
Sean Dyche faces an uncertain future at Goodison Park as well, so the outcome of this game could have huge ramifications for both parties.
I want more than just a win this weekend – I want to see a cohesive performance from the team and signs that Lopetegui knows how to take our club forward.
However, we may well have our work cut-out it seems…
West Ham fans will be frustrated as news drops ahead of Everton
West Ham lost 3-0 to Chelsea back in September at the London Stadium.
However, things could have been so different had we been awarded a penalty in the first-half when Crysencio Summerville was hauled down.
Referee Sam Barrott waved away shouts for a penalty, before the incident went to VAR for their perusal.
However, Stuart Attwell refused to budge, and stuck by the on-field decision. Anyone with even the smallest amount of football knowledge knew that should have been a penalty.
It was a truly shocking call, and should have been enough for him to be demoted in my honest opinion.
However, Attwell will referee the game against the Toffees at the London Stadium on Saturday, as confirmed via the official Premier League website.
What a disgraceful decision that is.
Stuart Attwell is arguably the worst referee in the Premier League, and to have him in charge of a game with the importance of West Ham vs Everton is an insult to every single one of our fans.
The whole English refereeing setup needs a complete rethink if you ask me, and Attwell is someone who shouldn’t be anywhere near officiating a Premier League game.
