West Ham United have reportedly joined several clubs eyeing Galatasaray’s Danish defender Victor Nelsson, who is eager for a Premier League move, according to Turkish media sources.
The Denmark international, previously linked with the Hammers, is actively seeking a transfer, though it’s unclear if West Ham’s interest remains strong or if these rumours are merely recycled.
The 26-year-old central defender wouldn’t typically look like an obvious transfer priority, yet West Ham continues to seek a fourth senior centre-back after missing out on Mats Hummels and passing on Irish international John Egan. Nelsson, who has featured in just half of Galatasaray’s ten league matches this season, reportedly declined an extension to his current deal, which runs until the summer of 2026.
Hammers manager Julen Lopetegui is thought to have urged the Hammers board to find funds for a striker during the January transfer window. Although his own job security is precarious, and he was the one pressing the club for a fourth central defender, one has to wonder if his priorities have changed.
