West Ham United V Everton – the Hammers line up is in!
Julen Lopetegui’s biggest game to date, labelled this week as must-win, means the Spaniard has to start turning around West Ham’s season and show that the team is growing in ability. ‘
An ‘improvement’ was called for by the board and by the fans after last week’s dire 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Lopetegui has named his eleven starting – some late fitness tests still happening as I type which can influence the eleven who are present at the kick off.
75 Minutes out, the named Eleven is:
West Ham United
Fabianski | Emerson, Kilman, Todibo, Wan Bissaka | Rodriguez, Soucek, Paquetá | Bowen (c) Antonio, Summerville.
I’m assuming this means a reversion to the more conventional 4-3-3 set up, which can get the most out of Summerville and Antonio.
Finally Lopetegui abandons ‘overthinking’ and sending out one of his weird team set-ups or last minute tweaks which have been the subject of so much criticism. It may not be a “Mike Bassett-Inspired Four-Four Effing Two” but it is ‘Four Three Three’ in a style familiar to the players. If it means we can avoid conceding in the first half hour then we’ll all be effing happy!
