Manchester City remain interested in signing AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Italian website claims that the Premier League champions have “sounded out” the France international about a transfer in “recent months”.
However, fans on X are not particularly enthusiastic about Maignan making the switch to the Etihad, with some preferring to keep faith with current first choice Ederson:

Maignan could sign a new contract
Calciomercato report that Milan are hoping to agree a contract extension with the keeper soon, so that would end speculation about a potential transfer.
While City have regularly been linked with Maignan over the past year or so, many feel that their interest was likely due to fears of losing Ederson, who flirted with a move to Saudi Arabia. The prospect of the Brazilian making the switch to the Middle East has now receded.
City have more pressing needs in other areas
If the Cityzens are to strengthen the first-team squad, a new No.1 won’t be top of their list of priorities. Rodri’s injury has prompted several links with holding midfielders, including Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.
The failure to replace Julian Alvarez last summer will also need to be addressed. Erling Haaland has managed to stay fit this season, unlike several of his teammates, but an alternatiive to the Norwegian is desperately needed. There is no real backup for the striker and that could come back to bite City.
