One current Chelsea player has revealed that he gave away his winners medals from his former club, including the Champions League medal.
Of course, there is no looking back these days for footballers, then can only look forward when they are still playing, aiming for the highest of heights.
EXCLUSIVE! Premier League club make enquiry to sign Chelsea player that could lead to swap deal seeing striker going the other way!!
And that is what Cole Palmer is doing right now at Chelsea, he is aiming to win more medals and he has kept space free in his cabinets for them.
But although Palmer has revealed that he gave his Manchester City medals away, they will never be far from him, and that’s because he gave them to his Mum!
It sounds once again just like a typical Cole Palmer thing to do. And of course, Mums will often celebrate the success of their sons more than them!
Palmer wanted to restock
The Chelsea talisman has done a big interview with GQ Magazine this week, and that is when you know you have made in the world of fame, right?
In his final season in Manchester, City won the treble – the League, Champions League and FA Cup. But he, of course, rarely featured, and recently, Palmer passed on his trophies and medals. “I give them to my mum,” he says. “I wanted to restock. Clear them out so I can stock up again.” He kept his Chelsea Player of the Year award, and the PFA award from last season. But the rest is space, for the future. “The feeling you get when you win… you just want it again. You don’t want to stop and never get that feeling again.”
I guess I can completely understand that. As footballers, you want to feel deserving of your medals you pick up and you want to feel like you have played a massive part in making them happen. Let’s hope he can now do that at Chelsea.
