Newcastle star Joelinton has issued a desperate plea after thieves broke into his home again.
The Brazilian shared the devastating news on Instagram and said he and his family ‘simply want to live in peace’.
“Our home was broken into again,” Joelinton wrote.
“To anyone considering doing this: Please know that there is nothing valuable here!
“What we care about most is our family’s safety and our kids growing up without fear. We hope for a community where our children, and everyone’s children, feel safe.
“We ask that our home be respected as a safe space for our family. We simply want to live in peace.”
It is the second time this year Joelinton’s home had been burgled.
The 28-year-old informed police regarding a break-in after he received a security alert on his phone while at St James’ Park watching Newcastle play Manchester City in January.
Joelinton did not feature in the game as he was out with an injury.
Northumbria Police were called to a property in Darras Hall around 7:30pm on Saturday January 13.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Thankfully the homeowner was not home but had received a security alert on their phone and immediately reported concerns to police.”
Officers were dispatched to the property but by then the thieves had fled.
The first time Joelinton’s house was broken into came just weeks after Manchester City star Jack Grealish was robbed while he played against Everton on December 27.
Grealish’s family were present at the time of the break-in as thieves took off with £1million worth of jewelry.
The 28-year-old was rushed to his home in Cheshire immediately after full-time and shared his heartbreak over the incident on social media.
“I can’t begin to explain how devastated I am over the burglary that took place at my home a few days ago,” Grealish wrote.
“My family mean the world to me and nothing is more important than ensuring their safety. This has been a traumatic experience for all of us, I am just so grateful that nobody was hurt.
“I have had so many amazing experiences and achievements over the last 12 months, but to be honest the best year of my life in football now doesn’t feel like something I can celebrate.
“The people that commit these terrible crimes have no idea of the damage they cause to peoples lives. I hope they are found and brought to justice so no other family has to go through what we have.
“I appreciate the messages from everyone and the support from my friends, teammates and the club. On a more positive note, I’d like to thank everyone for their support throughout this past year, I wish you and your family a happy 2024.”
