Ben White will make himself available for selection by England once Thomas Tuchel officially takes charge, according to a report.
Adrian Durham reports for talkSPORT that a “very good source” has informed him that Arsenal defender Ben White will make himself available for selection in March.
The March international break will be the first with Thomas Tuchel in charge, with the German manager taking over at the start of 2025.
There’s no word yet on whether Tuchel plans to bring White back into the mix, but if Durham is to be believed, it will be up to the manager to make the decision.
As it stands, White is going to be out of action for a while anyway, having undergone a procedure to address a knee issue.
Reports have given varying potential lengths of absence, but the minimum expectation is around six weeks out, taking us roughly to the end of 2024.
If White is back on time, he’d then have a couple of months to prove himself before Tuchel selects his squad for the March break.
As for what fixtures England will be playing in March, that depends on what happens in their final Nations League match against the Republic of Ireland on Sunday, November 17th.
A win would see England topping the group and securing automatic promotion to League A. That would mean a couple of World Cup qualifiers or friendlies in March, depending on the size of England’s qualification group.
But if England drop points on Sunday and finish second, then they’ll have to play a two-legged Nations League promotion play-off in March instead.
