Take it easy, Josh!
Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich is known for his near-maniacal devotion to his craft. When it comes to football, Kimmich always wants to be in the thick of it — no matter what.
So Germany and Bayern fans must have winced when, after a scary-looking injury situation forced Kimmich off the field Saturday in Germany’s 7-0 Nations League win over Bosnia and Herzegovina, the midfielder (playing as right-back for the national team) immediately said that he wanted to go again in the next match.
Fortunately, the injury has turned out to be nothing serious and perhaps even more fortunately, Kimmich may actually be getting some prescribed rest.
From a report in kicker, as captured via @iMiaSanMia:
Although he’s not injured, Joshua Kimmich is likely to be given a rest against Hungary on Tuesday with a view to the upcoming crowded schedule until Christmas and also to give Benjamin Henrichs a chance [@kicker]
Germany has top spot in its Nations League group all wrapped up, so this is a good time for Julian Nagelsmann to rotate. And a great time for Kimmich to rest and recuperate.
