Paris Saint-Germain expressed strong interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this past summer, but no deal came to fruition. Now, the player and Napoli are encountering difficulties negotiating a contract extension, with one club aiming to gain an advantage in the race.
Journalist Graeme Bailey recently told Rousing the Kop that Kvaratskhelia is on Liverpool’s radar as they start planning for life after Mohamed Salah.
“When you’ve got the likes of possibly Kvaratskhelia on the market, let’s not forget that Liverpool have just brought in the second best Georgian player,” Bailey said. “Liverpool are all over Kvaratskhelia, they know about the situation, there might be a chance of getting him next summer.”
According to La Repubblica, Barcelona is already preparing an offer for the Napoli star, with talks between the parties underway. The report suggests the final price of the deal could reach €80 million.
PSG could use a veteran defender in a potential transfer
The Parisian club has been eyeing Kvaratskhelia for several months. Italian journalist Emanuele Cammaroto, who discussed this situation on Radio Punto Zéro, believes it could unfold, noting that former Inter Milan standout Milan Škriniar could play a significant role in ensuring that PSG secures the two talents.
“PSG could make up for it by offering Skriniar, who [Antonio] Conte really values,” Cammaroto said (h/t Le10Sport). “He earns €9 million per season, so PSG would need to share his salary. Napoli are ready to renew Kvara’s contract, but they may start considering offers after 2025.”
