West Ham United could be dealt a big problem in the January transfer window by Manchester United.
Both West Ham and Manchester United are expected to be very busy in the January window, but Ruben Amorim could be set to scupper one of our key plans.
All the news at West Ham right now is revolving around Julen Lopetegui‘s future, with Graham Potter allegedly set to replace the Spaniard imminently at the London Stadium.
However, whoever is in charge is immaterial really when it comes to our January transfer window plans.
The Hammers desperately require one or two new additions, especially in the centre-forward department.
However, it’s looking like one of West Ham’s key targets could actually be Old Trafford bound in the January window.
Manchester United to beat West Ham to January window Randal Kolo Muani signing
According to a report from The Athletic, Manchester United are ‘actively exploring’ a January deal to sign Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window.
That’s obviously a killer blow for the Hammers.
West Ham are said to be harbouring ambitious hopes of bringing the 26-year-old France international to the London Stadium in January.
Kolo Muani joined French giants Paris Saint-Germain from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 for around £76 million (BBC).
However, things haven’t quite worked out for him in Paris. He has just 11 goals and seven assists in 54 appearances to his name for PSG so far.
That’s not to say that he isn’t an elite centre-forward, because I think he definitely is. PSG is just a bad fit for him.
Kolo Muani has been described as ‘exceptional’ by Medium, and they’re not wrong there.
The striker certainly has the physical attributes required to succeed in the Premier League.
He possesses blistering pace, incredible strength and is actually a very good finisher on the most part.
If he really is available on loan in the January transfer window, West Ham should be going all out to sign him, but Manchester United will clearly be a big problem for us.
Let’s hope that we still manage to pull something out the bag, and beat Man United to the signing of Randal Kolo Muani in January.
