West Ham United have officially parted ways with head coach Julen Lopetegui and his entire backroom staff, ushering in a new era under former Chelsea boss Graham Potter. The departures include Pablo Sanz, Oscar Caro, Juan Vicente Peinado, Borja De Alba, and Edu Rubio, leaving Potter with the task of rebuilding a comprehensive coaching team at the London Stadium.
We’re all eagar to see who Potter brings along to support him in revitalising the Hammers coaching staff. At Chelsea, Potter relied on a trusted team, many of whom followed him from Brighton. Could any of them be headed for east London?
Billy Reid, Potter’s former assistant, is unattached since leaving Chelsea, making him a prime candidate. Bjorn Hamberg is now Feyenoord’s assistant manager, while Bruno Saltor Grau remains without a club. Anthony Barry has progressed to England’s backroom team, making his availability unlikely.
Intriguingly, Kyle Macaulay, Chelsea’s head of scouting, might be tempted by a prominent recruitment role at West Ham. Meanwhile, Xavi Valero, the Hammers’ goalkeeping coach, is expected to stay.
The Potter revolution is just beginning at West Ham!
