West Ham United are apparently eyeing up a move for an experienced midfielder in the January transfer window.
Graham Potter has a lot of work to do at West Ham in the January window, with numerous new signings required.
Potter has already admitted that he’d like to be active in the January window.
And without a few new additions, we could really struggle during the second half of the season.
One area where we’re particularly light right now is the central midfield department.
We’re desperate for more legs, energy and athleticism, and that’s what makes the latest transfer link so bizarre.
West Ham are said to be chasing a player who’s very experienced in the Premier League, but he’s plying his trade in the Championship right now.
West Ham want to sign 29-year-old in the January window
The Hammers will undoubtedly be very busy in the transfer market over the course of the next few weeks.
Potter needs to get some more bodies in through the door as soon as possible.
Our latest transfer target is extremely underwhelming though.
According to a report from Give Me Sport, West Ham want to sign Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill this winter.
The 29-year-old is a very solid operator, and he has 111 Premier League appearances to his name.
However, he is definitely not the type of player we need to be bringing in in order to move the needle.
West Ham are crying our for a midfield ball-carrying powerhouse. And I’m sorry but Brownhill just isn’t that man.
If West Ham sign the Burnley man in the January transfer window I will be extremely disappointed.
