Update — 5:13PM EST: Nkunku pushing for Bayern move?
Chelsea FC attacker Christopher Nkunku has not had the easiest time since leaving RB leipzig for London. Now, Nkunku could be seeking a move back to Germany…only this time, he wants to play for Bayern Munich per Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg:
Being told clearly that Christopher #Nkunku wants to join FC Bayern!
Talks are ongoing, but it’s still an early stage. However, some parties have doubts about whether this swap deal can be completed by February 3rd. #CFC
Additionally, much will depend on Mathys #Tel’s decision.
Update — 5:00PM EST: A swap deal? An offer incoming?
Things might be a little spicy between Bayern Munich and Chelsea FC as the two clubs talk about a deal for Mathys Tel. Per Daily Mail journalist Sami Mokbel (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is interested in Christopher Nkunku, so the talks could be two-fold:
• Chelsea made an enquiry for Mathys Tel, who would cost in-excess of £40million (€47.6m)
• Bayern are understood to have monitored the situation of Christopher Nkunku
• As of now, no swap deal has been discussed or offered by Chelsea
• It is understood Nkunku would be open to joining Bayern if the opportunity presented itself
• Chelsea’s interest in Tel is concrete and the club would likely make an official offer if offered encouragement by Bayern
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea FC has held talks with Bayern Munich in recent days over…Mathys Tel.
The explosive Frenchman has not gotten on track this season and has had trouble finding minutes on Vincent Kompany’s squad. So far this season, Tel has only played 351 minutes in 12 appearances across all competitions.
Bayern Munich’s depth has kept the youngster on the sideline, which led many to speculate that he would pursue a loan or a transfer this winter. Last week, though, reports of a “long, direct” talks indicated that Tel was convinced to stay put by Vincent Kompany. After not playing over the weekend, did things change? Maybe, but that is impossible to know at this stage.
Either way, Romano had some details on what might be going on:

Tel spoke to Kompany 10 days ago as he wants to succeed at Bayern; while Chelsea asked for info on Mathys during talks with the German club.
