Manchester City have reached a verbal agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign red-hot forward Omar Marmoush.
The Premier League champions had already agreed personal terms with Marmoush and now look to seal his £67million move.
Marmoush, 25, is the second-top scorer in the Bundesliga behind Harry Kane with 15 goals. He has 20 goals in all competitions.
Mail Sport exclusively revealed City’s interest in the Egyptian international last month.
City have been looking for a forward to alleviate the burden on Erling Haaland and Pep Guardiola has admitted they made a mistake by not replacing Julian Alvarez who joined Atletico Madrid in the summer.
Guardiola’s side are expected to complete their £33.5m signing of wonderkid Uzbek Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov this week, and have reached a £29.4m agreement with Palmeiras to sign centre-half Vitor Reis.

Twenty-year-old Khusanov will sign a four-and-a-half year deal with the option of an extension.
Reis will also join City immediately rather than stay with Palmeiras until after the Club World Cup as initially intended.
City had originally hoped to land Marmoush for around £40m but Frankfurt have been insistent that they want a premium because it is the January window and they need to find a replacement.
Provided all the deals get over the line, it will represent a £102.9m outlay for City so far, a clear statement of how urgently they want to turn around the season.
This may not represent the end of their foray into the transfer market, though.
City intend to add another midfielder to their squad.
