Radostin Kishishev arrived at Leicester late in his career, being soon 33 at the time. He was still playing at international level for Bulgaria, adding 4 more caps to his name while on the books at Leicester.
He never really established himself in the Leicester team and had a number of injury situations at the time, but still kept on going as he made a loan move to Leeds during that period.
Kishishev reprsented Bulgaria in the 1996 Euro’s in England and also part of the team reaching the World cup two years later. He ended his full international career in 2009, being capped 88 times.
We all know what happened in the 2007-08, season leaving the club after the relegtion to League One. Kishishev was retained by incoming manager Nigel Pearson for the first half of the 2008–09 season, acting as a translator for teammate and fellow countryman Aleksandar Tunchev, and inheriting the number 7 shirt worn by outgoing Iain Hume. On 19 December 2008, Kishishev’s contract was cancelled by mutual consent having only played one game game in that campaign.
He spent his best years in the game at Charlton Athletic, playing here from 2000 to 2007, adding up 179 league games, scoring 2 goals, having played alongside Chris Powell and Paul Konchesky, who later also became Leicester players. He joined Charlton from Turkish club Bursaspor, prevously been playing for Litex Lovech.
He rejoined Litex Lovech from Leicester, but returned to English football, joining Brighton, being a pivotal player as they became League One Champions in that 2010-11 season, as he picked up his first trophy in English football, not really having much of an impact at Leicester two years before when they one the same trophy.
Kishishev has since he retired from playing been acting in different roles in football, seen as a manager for three different clubs in his home town Burgas.
