Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to sign a new forward in the ongoing winter transfer window as Ange Postecoglou looks to add more quality and depth to his struggling side, and Daniel Levy is contemplating a possible move for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
Mbeumo has been thriving for the Bees this season, and his individual quality has not only replaced everything Ivan Toney used to bring for Thomas Frank’s side but also added different touches to it. And the Lilywhites have been credited with an interest to pursue his signatures.
Tottenham are interested in signing the 25-year-old alongside the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, per Fabrice Hawkins via RMC Sport.
Is Mbeumo to Tottenham probable?
However, despite the prospects of bringing him to White Hart Lane, former North Londoners scout Bryan King thinks it would take a massive financial investment to bring Mbeumo to N17.
And speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, King said:
“Brentford will want big money for Mbeumo. We’re talking about the £60 million price mark. However, why should they sell their top scorer at the moment? Brentford are playing the kind of football we were expecting Spurs to play.”
While the transfer looks difficult at this point, if the move were to materialise, it would be an intent signing at N17.
For Tottenham, Levy has tried aiming for multiple forward moves that have failed, and now things need to start getting serious if they are going to land a high-potential ceiling raiser at Hotspur Way like Mbeumo.
