Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed AC Milan‘s interest in Kyle Walker, and was hugely complimentary in his assessment of the English right back.
The Manchester City defender has endured a difficult season so far with the champions, with a noticeable drop in form from a player considered the best right back in the league’s history.
After a string of disappointing performances during his side’s slump in the middle of the campaign, he then announced publicly that he wanted a move away from the Etihad.
As is to be expected for a player of Walker’s well-documented quality, he has been linked with a number of potential new clubs.
One of the most persistent names connected with the 34-year-old has been AC Milan, and now Ibrahimovic – a senior advisor for the club’s RedBird owners – has confirmed their interest in bringing the player to Italy.
‘Everyone knows that Walker is a great player, he did great things at City,’ the legendary former Sweden and Manchester United striker told DAZN before Saturday’s defeat by Juventus.

‘When there is someone like him on the market there is a lot of interest. It doesn’t go against our vision, because he is strong, he is a leader, he has dominance in the dressing room. Now we are checking if it is possible.
‘We talk to (manager Sergio) Conceicao every day, to have a dialogue with him and understand what he likes and what he doesn’t like.
‘We know what is needed and now we work. The team is strong. What do we need? In the transfer market, the more I say it, the more it costs, better not to say it.
‘The team, as I said, is already strong. We showed in the Super Cup that it is a team that can win, now we need continuity.’
Earlier this week Mail Sport reported that Milan are waiting on whether City will allow the 34-year-old to leave on a free before making official contact and the Italians will offer him a two-and-a-half year contract.
AC Milan had also been linked with Walker’s England team-mate Marcus Rashford, though reports from French outlet L’Equipe suggest that they have dropped their interest in the forward to get a deal for the right back over the line.
