Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha is finally set to return from injury. He trained with the first team before the game against Wolfsburg and is looking to make his comeback on the pitch against SC Freiburg next Saturday.
The 29 year-old had picked up an adductor injury while training with the Portuguese national team in November. The muscle fiber tear in his right adductor saw the midfielder be on the sidelines for more than two months. Per a report by Sky Sports’ Kerry Hau (via @iMiaSanMia) Palhinha is now targeting the SC Freiburg game on Saturday to make his return to the pitch.
Palhinha is a feisty midfield destroyer who loves going into duels and his services will aid his teammates well against Freiburg who are known to fight tooth and nail to the finish. With the midfield stocked up, Vincent Kompany has the luxury of making a healthily paced return for Palhinha.
