Graham Potter has already emphatically stamped down his authority at West Ham United it seems.
West Ham are in transition as a club right now, and Graham Potter is the man tasked with ushering us on into a new era of success.
The Hammers’ transfer business in the January window is set to kick up a notch now, with the imminent arrival of Kyle Macaulay from Chelsea.
A lot of work is required, if Potter is to adequately clean up the mess left behind by the recently departed Julen Lopetegui.
Tim Steidten has failed to impress as well, and is reportedly set to be moved on from the London Stadium.
However, the good news is that we have the right people in place for the job now.
The signings of a new striker and a powerful central midfielder will be a prerequisite if Potter is to succeed at the London Stadium.
A top quality new central defender coming in would not go a miss either.
And I fully expect some really exciting new arrivals to be imminent now.
West Ham boss Graham Potter holds January transfer talks
Now is the time for the Hammers to make a big statement in the transfer market.
If Potter is to succeed at the London Stadium, he has to be given the tools to help him fulfil his footballing prophecy.
And it seems like West Ham are being seriously ambitious in the January transfer window.
According to a report from The Sun (print edition January 23rd, page 46), West Ham have three new signings lined up for January.
Potter has held crunch talks with David Sullivan and recruitment guru Kyle Macaulay about the specific profile of player he wants at the London Stadium.
I’m really hoping that Ezechiel Banzuzi is the first man through the door.
The sensational 19-year-old midfielder is an absolute powerhouse, and his ball-carrying ability will transform the Hammers overnight.
Then we need to bring a proven centre-forward to the London Stadium – someone like Jonathan David would do niceley.
If we aren’t able to sign him, then I wouldn’t mind Evan Ferguson. Whatever happens, Potter needs someone to act as a focal point for his side’s attacking play.
If West Ham manage to get two top quality transfers over the line in the January window, maybe three, then we will be in strong shape heading into the second half of the season.
