Destiny Udogie is set to return to Tottenham Hotspur training in three weeks
After the double setback of Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson last week, Tottenham Hotspur fans were given something to smile about on Wednesday when Cristian Romero was pictured training with his teammates.
Romero has been out on the sidelines for months with a knee problem and his road to recovery from injury should potentially represent a big boost for Ange Postecoglou. It also emerged that the Argentinean’s centre-back partner Micky van de Ven is expected to resume training next week. Van de Ven has struggled with persistent hamstring issues, so the medical team must take care of it and not rush the Dutchman back like they did last time out.

Club insider Paul O Keefe has now given a fresh injury update on another Tottenham star. He claims on his X account that Destiny Udogie is on track to return from injury in just three weeks’ time.
“Little update on this. Told Destiny is on track to return in just over 3 weeks time, so around 7 weeks total,” Paul O Keefe tweeted.
Destiny Udogie was forced off with a hamstring issue against Wolves back in late December and has already been sidelined for seven games. The left-back is one of 14 Spurs players who has been unavailable for the trip to Hoffenheim in the Europa League. It should also be noted that he is among four players currently out with a hamstring problem.
Before his injury, the Italian was not playing at his best similar to most of his teammates. A lack of rotation had taken its toll on his performance levels on the pitch. It was evident that Udogie lacked something in his game, which made him a regular in Ange Postecoglou’s backline last season.

Now that the young full-back is expected to return from injury in just over three weeks, he should miss six matches during that period. Apart from the Hoffenheim clash, Udogie will be unavailable against Leicester City, Elfsborg, Brentford, Liverpool and Aston Villa in what could be a crucial run of games in Tottenham’s season.

While the North London side are currently operating on bare bones, Udogie’s swift recovery from injury and return could inject some much-needed energy into the squad and lift the spirits on and off the pitch.
