Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to make long-awaited Everton return for crucial trip to Crystal Palace after being out with a hamstring injury since February
- Everton are outside the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference
- The Toffees have only scored 24 goals in 31 Premier League appearances
- Dyche will be hoping that Calvert-Lewin can fire his side to safety this season
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to make his long-awaited return to the squad for the crucial trip to Crystal Palace.
The England international has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since February 4 – manager Sean Dyche’s first match in charge after replacing Frank Lampard – but had a 70-minute run-out in a 1-0 defeat by National League North side Chester at the club’s Finch Farm training complex this week.
“He’ll certainly be in the thinking, the game the other day was all about him. He felt good,” said Dyche.
“I call this his proper return. Statistically he’s proved where he is fitness-wise.
“The game they other day was all about him. It was my idea to take him off after playing 70 mins.”

Sean Dyche will welcome the return of the forward as Everton look to stay up this season
Captain Seamus Coleman will miss the visit to Selhurst Park with a hamstring problem which kept him out of last weekend’s defeat by Fulham but midfielder Amadou Onana returns after a groin problem.
The Toffees have struggled for goals this season, scoring just 24 times in 31 Premier League appearances, the joint-lowest along with Nottingham Forest and bottom side Southampton.
Dyche’s men sit in 17th position heading into the clash at Selhurst Park, above the relegation zone on goal difference.
A victory against the Eagles would do the world of good for Everton as they look to maintain their status as one of only two sides to never be relegated from the Premier League, along with leaders Arsenal.
