Bees boss ready to hail “fantastic” West Ham achievement
It would need a collapse by some and nuclear rise of others to deny the Hammers their place in the Premier League next season.
It’s been the roughest of rides both from performance and results level for most of the season and made more difficult for the morally unpalatable World Cup .
That has made a mess of the seasons with fixtures crowded into the tightest of calendars making a situation which has affected players unfairly as they have become over played and tired.
Thankfully. David Moyes, his backroom team and the squad have reacted at exactly the right time and with Europe out of Brentford’s reach we have chances over there on Sunday.
One man who knows it will be a seriously hard match is Bees manager is Thomas Frank who is clearly a huge fan of David Moyes.
After two fine wins over the las few days a third could be on the cards from. what may appear at first sight, as a weakened Hammers team.
Moyes’ men are competing in their second European semi-final in the space of 12 months and will take a 2-1 lead into the second leg against AZ Alkmaar next Thursday.
Brentford boss Frank says it would be a “fantastic achievement” should West Ham go on to lift the Europa Conference League trophy in Prague on June 7.
He said: “I think it is fantastic what David Moyes and his staff have done in the last year at West Ham. They came in, turned things around and they were sixth or seventh and last year [reached the] semi-final in the Europa League and now they’re [in the] semi-final in the Conference League and hopefully going to the final.
“I know they have struggled a little bit, but they are in the semi-final of the Conference League and maybe they are going to lift their first trophy in many years, which will be a fantastic achievement.”
