Not rushing back to work! Mauricio Pochettino shares Instagram snap of sunny beach walk with his dog Sansa as talks over the Chelsea manager’s job continue
- Mauricio Pochettino is in talks to become the next manager of Chelsea
- But the Argentine is making the most of his free time with beach dog walks
- He posted an Instagram snap of Rhodesian ridgeback Sansa on the sands
Mauricio Pochettino appeared in no hurry to get back to work as he shared an Instagram snap of a morning dog walk on the beach.
As negotiations over him taking over as Chelsea manager continue, the Argentine spent his Monday morning walking Rhodesian ridgeback Sansa on golden sands.
Confirmation of Pochettino’s return to Premier League football at Stamford Bridge is expected any time with the 51-year-old enjoying the sunshine while he can.
Pochettino has been out of managerial work since Paris Saint-Germain sacked him in July last year but has made no secret of his desire to get back into English football.
He guided Tottenham to the 2019 Champions League final and the runners-up spot in the Premier League in 2016-17, before winning the league title and the French Cup in Paris.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is searching for a new boss after sacking Graham Potter
Chelsea co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly have been discussing their next appointment in California amid reports Pochettino will be offered the job soon.
He has been the frontrunner since former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann pulled out of the running amid concerns over the process, having believed he was a shoo-in for the role.
Graham Potter was sacked at the beginning of April after just seven months in the Chelsea hotseat, with club legend Frank Lampard taking over on an interim basis until the end of the season.
But Lampard has so far lost all five matches in charge – the Blues have been beaten by Wolves, Brighton and Brentford to leave them a lowly 12th in the Premier League table ahead of Tuesday’s visit to title-chasing Arsenal.
They were also beaten 4-0 on aggregate by Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Pochettino revealed in a 2019 interview that his dog is named after the Game of Thrones character Sansa Stark.
In 2018, Pochettino admitted he was worried about his dog missing him because Tottenham had to play a 7.45pm kick-off against Wolves.
Chelsea have endured a disastrous season and it will be on Pochettino to reverse their fortunes
‘It is similar to when you play [in the] Champions League. It is strange because it is on a Saturday,’ he said.
‘At seven o’clock, 7.30, I am [normally] on my sofa with my dog Sansa and watching the Spanish league because they start at 7.45 or France because Ligue 1 starts at eight o’clock, or Italy, or different games.
‘It will be so strange for my dog. Not for me but my dog.
‘”Where is my dad?” She is going to say. She is beautiful and I am in love with her.’
